I så fall må det være snadder å lese at Apple er i ferd med å overta markedet. Her er utdrag fra siste kvartalsrapport:
Fiscal quarter ending 25 June
• 'Highest Mac sales in over four years,' and 'record iPod sales' as contributing to massive revenues of $3.52bn.
• That figure represents a 75 per cent leap on the corresponding quarter for 2004.
• 35 per cent growth in sales of Macs
• iPods with year on year growth of 616 per cent.
• This equates to more than a million Macs and more than six million iPods.
• iPods still account for 75 per cent of the music player market, with the closest competitor achieving just five per cent.
• And the US market share for iTunes grew to 80 per cent despite increased competition.
• Apple also stowed away $450m in cash, bringing its cash and assets total well over $7bn.
• The end result then was a net profit of $320m - 37 cents a share, up from 2004's $61m.
'We are delighted to report Apple's best quarter ever in both revenue and earnings,' said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. 'The launch of Mac OS X Tiger has been a tremendous success, and we have more amazing new products in the pipeline.
